Thanks to a tip from Amrei, I’ve been listening to folkalley.com a lot lately via iTunes. It plays a lot of Bluegrass and Irish music, well selected. Good fiddle and mandolin.
They just played (northern) Irish musician Paul Brady’s rendition of Arthur McBride, recorded in 1998. A beautiful song and it brought back memories of having heard it a lot many years ago; I believe I had a few of his albums as far back as college. I also think I saw him play somewhere once.
Found a 1977 version of the song via his website (afterwards it will present more of his work):
