Gael Force: Live Concert of the Greatest Irish Artists 13 April 05

I’ve had this concert DVD for some weeks and watched it many times, viewing some performances again and again, such as Christy Moore’s two songs, Sinéad O’Conner’s, Sharon Shannon’s stunning performance on accordian accompanied by a fiddle, standing bass and guitar. Van Morrison was absent, but Brian Kennedy performed Morrison’s Crazy Love.
It is fitting for me to watch this again after the mention dedicated to my father, thinking of our journey from Shannon through Donegal, to Derry, Dublin and Cork many years ago — it was so moving for him to see for the first time the land of his heritage.
