Sophie Scholl: die letzten Tage 19 March 05
Section: article
Categories: Film / in-a-cinema
The film is based on transcripts of interrogations, court proceedings and eye-witness accounts which have only recently become available.
Regarding the photo below: I took it a few weeks ago in Munich and I am including it here because it depicts a side street in the area of Munich where the Scholl siblings studied, carried out their political resistance, were captured and summarily tried and executed. The film, by the way, was shot in the original buildings of the university, certified by my girlfriend, who also (as did Sophie Scholl) studied biology there.
Cities have such a resonance, the imprinting of humanity in stone, still vibrating with events that transpired there.
