In Search of Memory 29 June 09

I very much like Eric Kandel and his work, and for that reason enjoyed this film.
His research on memory is important for me personally. His insights and discoveries, and that of his colleagues, casts a light on the juncture between psychology, psychotherapy as I know it, biology, and genetics.

I love Iggy Pop and his work. He has created some masterpieces, such as The Passenger, and he has genius. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him twice in concert.
The interview below is endearing. Iggy was interviewed by Faris Rotter of the former group The Horrors →.
Here is another nice interview with him. →

Up until sometime last year I entered almost every film, museum visit, and concert here in acoolsha. Now I mainly just enter the latter two categories.
Tonight we went to see Night at the Museum 2 (2009) for some entertainment (distraction). I had rented the DVD of Night at the Museum (2006) to see what it was like.
I also recently rewatched The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather: Part II (1974). I took out The Godfather: Part III but only watched half of it.
I also recently watched The Bourne Identity (2002) and The Bourne Supremacy (2004), both of which I like.

Alice Neel 28 May 09

Just got this DVD as a gift — thank you — and I am in the middle of my second viewing of the film. This is a wonderfully well done documentary on the painter Alice Neel.
Made by her grandson, Andrew Neel, the film is an intelligent, sober, open, and inspiring documentary on his grandmother’s life and work — particularly on her work. It is really to his credit to have accomplished all of that.
